Contributions to Buddhist Organizations

By News Team (Originally in English)

During the most recent international gathering in Europe from July through October 2015, Supreme Master Ching Hai read to our Association members many interesting and inspiring Buddhist stories, such as Great-Wealth the Treasurer’s Son, The Fish Has 100 Heads, and The Bad Karma of Being Unfair. Each story delivers great moral or spiritual messages that are precious to everyone, young and old. These stories were first compiled in India based on Lord Buddha’s disciple Ānanda’s perfect memory and retelling thousands of years ago and were later written down and spread to China, Tibet, Âu Lạc and the rest of the world through the diligent work of numerous people including translators and publishers.

While reading the stories, Master often expressed sincere appreciation for all who have been involved in translating, publishing and distributing these stories. In the past and during this 2015 international gathering, Master contributed to a number of Buddhist organizations to further their good work, including the Buddhist Publication Society (BPS) in Kandy, Sri Lanka, one of the world’s major publishers of literature on Buddhism. The Administrative Secretary of BPS, Mr. Palitha Munasinghe, wrote a letter in return, thanking Master for Her great service upon receiving Her contribution of US$10,000. We wish the continued success for all these Buddhist organizations, so that the benevolent teachings of Lord Buddha will further help uplift the world into a new era of compassion and peace.
