The Supreme Master Ching Hai

Touched by the selfless service and boundless benefit Formosa’s Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) has been providing to the world, Supreme Master Ching Hai recently offered USD 100,000 to the hospital in order assist unfortunate patients who cannot afford medical expenses and to assist in training doctors from other nations, who in turn can assist their own people.
In the accompanying letter dated August 16, 2018 to Major General Tsai Chien-Sung, M.D., Superintendent of Tri-Service General Hospital, Master wrote,
“I have always wanted to care for the less fortunate (an initial inspiration from my heart) so please use this contribution to train foreign doctors so when they return home, it will be even more beneficial and more perfect creating diplomatic gains for both nations. As a high-ranking General, you are using diplomacy instead of arms to help people which is far more respectable, and fruitful.”
Since its establishment more than 70 years ago, TSGH has been providing high quality medical services to military personals and civilians throughout its five branches. Back in November 2016, Supreme Master Ching Hai had contributed USD 100,000 to help those who needed emergency medical treatment but lacked financial means. Accepting Master’s generous and kind contribution, Major General Tsai Chien-Sung wrote a letter of appreciation on behalf of the hospital, saying
“TSGH is extremely honored in having the same philosophy with Guru. I hereby promise you, that TSGH must make good use of the energy and kindness from you, step out to the world with stronger pace, to support and to help more people in need, and to make this world a better place.”
