Virtuous Vegan Veterinarian – Dr. Armaiti May

By Los Angeles, USA News Group (Originally in English)

Dr. Armaiti May is a vegan veterinarian from Los Angeles, California, USA. As an animal advocate, she is the founder and president of the Veterinary Association for the Protection of Animals (VAPA). Dr. May promotes the benefits of a plant-based diet for both humans and our animal companions. She also strives to change Veterinary education policies to ensure all animals are treated with the utmost respect and kindness.

Our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai gratefully contributed US$21,000 to Dr. May’s Foundation for her noble work and presented the Shining World Compassion Award with all love and high esteem.

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, the Los Angeles Supreme Master Television team presented Dr. May with the check, Award plaque and Award letter. Dr. May expressed her appreciation to Supreme Master Ching Hai,

“I was so happy and ecstatic! Just amazed! And I am so so grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for supporting my work.”

Dr. May was generous with her time and aided us in filming her as she performed veterinary checkups. So, we started the day by following her to the home of one of her new clients. Though a first-time client, the animal caregiver graciously opened up her home to us. She also happened to be vegan and asked Dr. May how to transition her cat and dog to plant-based diets.

The cat feared the exam, and thus had to be anesthetized so she would sleep during the process. At that time, the cat’s companion, a dog who was initially quiet in the basement, started to sense something was amiss with his friend when she resisted the anesthesia injection. And even though she made no noise, he started howling during the rest of our visit.

After the exam, we went with Dr. May and her assistant Kimberly King to the Animal Wellness Center in Venice, California, where Dr. May occasionally does exams, to record the presentation of her US$21,000 check, Shining World Compassion Award plaque, and Award letter. In addition to DVDs and books by Supreme Master Ching Hai, we provided Dr. May, Ms. King, and the rest of the office staff with a delicious vegan meal and desserts.

We’re deeply thankful for the chance to bring Master’s love and appreciation to Dr. Armaiti May for her efforts in dedicating her life to healing, protecting, and educating people about the most healthy and compassionate way of living; the vegan path.
