Argentinian Government Embraces Vegan Mondays

By News Group (Originally in English)

Argentina’s Secretary General Fernando de Andreis announced via Facebook on July 3, 2017, that the Casa Rosada (Pink House), which is the official residence and executive office of the Argentinian president, has started serving an entirely vegan menu on Mondays to employees working in the building, including to the President.

He explained the reasoning behind the adoption of a plant-based menu, writing: “On the one hand, it is so that at least once a week the 554 people who eat lunch at the Pink House, will eat a lean menu that will contribute to the improvement of their health. On the other hand, knowing the curiosity that awakens in the country [with] everything that goes on in the house, this is as a simple way to start an intense discussion about the diet of Argentinians.” He elaborated that the best way for Argentinians to protect themselves from unhealthy modern diets is to embrace changes in their diets.

Congratulations, Argentina! May your shining example encourage all of Argentina to embrace the life-giving vegan diet!
