The Supreme Master Ching Hai
Supreme Master Ching Hai conveyed her warm congratulations to the newly inaugurated prime minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, His Excellency Dr. Hubert Minnis, in a letter dated May 25, Golden Year 14 (2017).
From a humble family background, Prime Minister Minnis became a medical doctor, practicing as a respected gynecologist for 22 years. He was first elected to parliament in 2007 serving as the country’s health minister.
In his first speech as prime minister, His Excellency paid tribute to the country’s exemplary parliamentary democratic system, stating, “With civility and nobility, Bahamians from all walks of life joined hands and hearts to forge a new direction for our country.”
He promised that his government would uphold a commitment to good governance, collaboration, and greater accountability, which he said is what the Bahamian people entrusted him with through their votes. The prime minister emphasized a transparent and honest government that will treat all people equally.
