The Supreme Master Ching Hai
In a letter written on February 14, Golden Year 14 (2017), Supreme Master Ching Hai offered heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to His Excellency Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his election as Germany’s new president.
Having served as Germany’s vice chancellor and foreign minister, President-elect Dr. Steinmeier proved himself on the world stage as an experienced diplomat who advanced reconciliation in times of crisis. At home, he is one of Germany’s most popular leaders, respected for his assertive moral voice and defense of the nation’s tolerant values.
Germany, the European Union’s largest economy, accepted more than one million refugees in the past two years as part of her open-door policy. Supreme Master Ching Hai recognized the German government’s humanitarian example in her letter, supporting President-elect Dr. Steinmeier’s reference to the country as “an anchor of hope” and stability in the region.
