Participating in the Formosa Fairs to Promote Veganism

By Formosa News Team (Originally in Chinese)

On July 14, 2018, the Formosan Keelung Center participated in a Vegetarian Promotion Fair held by the Keelung Vegetarian Promotion Association at the square in front of the Keelung Culture Center. Our International Association members conveyed in action, the new environmental protection and concept of “Be Vegan, Make Peace” to love and protect the earth. This fair received enthusiastic responses from many plant-based diet groups and NGO organizations. They also provided a variety of vegetarian food for all the participants to enjoy.

Prior to the event, our Association members had hung up the “Supreme Master TV” poster and “Be Vegan, Make Peace” banner, to convey the message of love and peace so that passersby and people in vehicles could also feel the grace of God.

We set up two booths in the square, one in the vegan food sharing area which offered free samples of Taiwanese style vegan macaroon, vegan non-alcoholic beer, lemon passion fruit drinks, and basil pan cake. The other booth gave out free vegan food recipe books “Love Veggie Food and Health, Protect the Earth With Love,” and provided vegan health books for reference, and also played Supreme Master TV videos which attracted many people to stop and watch while sampling the delicious vegan food on offer.

Our Formosan Taichung Center also participated in another activity on September 2, 2018. It was the Caring for Dementia, Good Voice Contest, and Healthy Walking Fair promotion activity at Taichung City Fengle Sculpture Park. Our International Association members made Taiwanese herbal tea, vegan tiramisu, and also entrusted a vegetarian food company to make Korean vegan rice rolls and sold them at the venue to promote the many benefits of healthy, planet-saving vegan food.

Our Association members also broadcasted Supreme Master TV Live at the venue, delivering positive and constructive messages of peace, the sustainable loving diet and how to mitigate climate change. Our team also distributed 300 copies of vegan food recipes; “Alternative Living” flyers; and global-warming messages, etc. More than 700 people visited our booth. Among them, there were also non-vegetarian food makers who stopped and watched Supreme Master TV programs, asked for vegan food recipes and the related information on how to transition to vegan cooking. Many families with dementia patients, as well as service organizations, also took this opportunity to have further contact and understanding of the concept of the health benefits of a vegan diet.

Our Association members donated proceeds from sales (NT$ 11,300) to the event organizers, hoping to contribute to the good care of dementia patients. We also hope that more people will adopt the healthy and benevolent vegan diet and have a happy life.
