On November 11, 2016, Supreme Master Ching Hai lovingly offered financial contributions to Tri-Service General Hospital and Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital in Formosa to support their compassionate work of alleviating the pain and sufferings of the sick and needy. Each hospital received TWD 3,170,000 (US$100,000) which will be used to help those who need emergency medical treatment but lack financial means.
Tri-Service General Hospital was established in 1946 and plays an important role in Formosa’s national healthcare, with the goal to “enhance the quality of medical services provided to the military, their families and civilians with medical insurance, as well as its operational proficiency.”
Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital was established in 1948 and has about 700 employees. It offers a wide range of non-profit medical services to civilians and veterans and strives to become a regional medical and research center to provide better service to the community, find new cures and educate more exceptional physicians.
In acknowledgement of Master’s generous contributions, the Superintendent of Tri-Service General Hospital, Major General Lin Shih-Hua, M.D. and the Superintendent of Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital, Major General Tsai Chien-Sung, M.D., both sent letters of appreciation.
We salute the valuable services these hospitals have been offering to the public over the years and we pray that with God’s grace, they will continue to bring more care to those in need and guide the public to a healthier lifestyle.
