Cleaning Operation on Miaoli Road No. 28 in Miaoli County, Formosa

By Formosa News Team (Originally in Chinese)

Miaoli is a beautiful mountainous county in Formosa. For nearly 30 years, our Association members have been coming to our ashram in the town of Hsihu every Sunday traveling through Miaoli County. To support the county officials’ quarterly cleaning plans for the area, and to be neighborly and friendly, we adopted Miaoli Road No. 28 to clean quarterly. Miaoli Road No. 28 runs near our Hsihu Ashram.

Residents of the town of Hsihu clean up the fallen leaves in the ditches and off the road to help prevent flash flooding in the rainy summer. On June 6, Golden Year 13 (2016), over 200 of our Association members from different parts of Formosa headed to Miaoli Road No. 28 at noon to join the cleaning efforts.

Under the heat of the blazing sun, our Association members worked hard alongside the local cleaning crew to remove the debris off the road. The brothers jumped in the ditch to pick up the fallen leaves with their hands, while the sisters carried the fallen leaves to be disposed. The cleaning was well organized and the workload was shared. After two hours, the road, which was filled with fallen branches and weeds, was back to its beautiful original state.

We are grateful to Master, and felt joyful for this opportunity to restore the natural beauty of Hsihu’s back garden.
