By Serbia Relief Team (Originally in Serbian)
Each day at the border between Serbia and Croatia near Šid, Serbia, there are at least 150 refugees passing and looking for refreshment, rest and comfort. Most of them are men, but recently a lot of women and children are also trying to pass the border.
At the end of July 2017, our Association members from Serbia, along with their friends and volunteers, formed a relief team and traveled to this area to spend two weeks from July 29 until August 13, to help these desperate people in need, using EUR 3,622 contributed by our United Kingdom Association members. We worked with the No Name Kitchen local voluntary group from Belgrade, Serbia and distributed vegan food to the refugees. We also visited several refugee centers around Belgrade and handed out fruits, clothes and shoes. The refugees were all very thankful for the help. We pray that they soon are able to settle in a loving, peaceful place to restart their lives.
