Master is always deeply concerned when disasters occur in any part of the world. Upon hearing news of such events, She immediately provides financial assistance and sends relief teams. Through such efforts, Her unconditional love and support are conveyed to those affected, thus reducing their suffering while helping them to rebuild their lives.

In recognition of the selfless actions of governments, organizations and relief workers around the globe, Master expresses Her gratitude as follows: "Thank you, all the international help that brings care and necessities to afflicted victims. Thank you all the relief workers for taking time and forsaking your own comfort, even traveling great distance on unfavorable roads and conditions to bring love and assistance to people in a time of need. May Heaven bless you abundantly for your generosity and noble sacrifice."

    Loving Assistance for Macedonia Flood Relief

    On the night of August 6, 2016, Skopje, the capital of Macedonia, was hit with flash floods as a severe storm soaked the region in which 21 people lost their lives and approximately 100 were injured. Following Supreme Master Ching Hai’s loving advice to help our neighbors, one of our Association members flew from Athens, Greece to Skopje three days later and joined another local member to carry out relief work.

    Our local member’s eldest son researched, printed and marked the flood-affected areas on the map, and personally drove us to these places the next day, August 10.

    We stopped to talk with a soldier from an army troop who was cleaning and disinfecting a public school in the town of Stajkovtsi. The soldier was very happy to hear that we were there to render assistance. He immediately brought us to his commander, who arranged for us to speak and work with Red Cross Macedonia in downtown central Skopje.

    We were received by the Head of Programme Sector of the Red Cross Macedonia in Skopje. He told us that the Red Cross Macedonia and the government had been working very closely with each other. To assist their relief effort, we donated EUR 5,000 from The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association to Red Cross Macedonia.

    We used the rest of the day to distribute Alternative Living flyers, spreading awareness of veganism in Macedonia. Within one hour, we handed out over 600 flyers to both sellers and buyers in a local food market. We met three vegetarians who expressed delight to hear us talking about veganism, and they thanked us.

    We are deeply grateful for God’s love and grace so that we were able to send help where it was needed. We thank the government and Red Cross of Macedonia for their hard work and swift action during this national disaster. It gives us hope and joy to see that the people of Macedonia are truly blessed with a beautiful country, and are well taken care of in a time of need. We hope our contribution and efforts will help Macedonia with a speedy recovery from this tragic disaster. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the victims of the storm and everyone affected by this event.
