Over a billion people around the world will be celebrating Lunar New Year 2015, the Year of the Sheep. Festivities for this auspicious occasion, considered one of the most important holidays in many Asian communities throughout the world, will begin on Thursday, February 19th.
Known for their gentleness and kindness, the sweet vegan sheep are symbolic of harmony and peace. Thus, in 2015, the Year of the Sheep, we can expect the world to become calmer, more serene, and many positive changes to occur. Furthermore, as the sheep zodiac sign is known for its creativity, 2015 is also a time for appreciating and cultivating beauty around us.
Traditions during this special holiday that is celebrated over 15 days include spending time with family, giving lucky money in red envelopes to children and elders, hanging red lanterns and decorations in the home and streets, and enjoying the famous dragon dance and other delightful activities.
May 2015 bring much peace and tranquility to Earth and to all her inhabitants as more people discover the benefits of the compassionate vegan diet.
