Today, December 12, following two weeks of talks during the COP 21 in Paris, France, world leaders have proposed a new climate agreement, including stopping the increase of greenhouse gases as quickly as possible, keeping global temperatures below two degrees Celsius, and adopting a US$100 billion climate finance plan for developing countries, committing to more in the future. Nearly 200 delegates from the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will decide today to accept or reject the proposal.

Hearing about this new climate proposal, Supreme Master Ching Hai was profoundly concerned that not enough was being done to stabilize the climate and protect present and future life on Earth.

In recent years, the scientific evidence supporting the change to a vegan diet as the only and fastest way to resolve climate change is plentiful and keeps increasing everyday. There is a worldwide consensus in many fields of science about the viability of global adoption of a plant-based diet not only to help resolve climate change but for the improvement of vital issues such as health, world hunger and economic stability, among many others.

Supreme Master Ching Hai urgently advised the world leaders to implement Vegan Law as the solution, and referred them to the tremendous amount of evidence and information in From Crisis to Peace – The Organic Vegan Way is the Answer.

We sincerely pray that COP 21 leaders will heed the important recommendation of Supreme Master Ching Hai and experts throughout the world to save life on Earth, now and for coming generations.

Above is Supreme Master Ching Hai’s letter to respected COP 21 world leaders.
