On May 14, Golden Year 14 (2017), Supreme Master Ching Hai conveyed Her warm support and congratulations to His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, who was elected president of France.
Before announcing his presidential candidacy, President Macron carried out a survey to determine which policies his fellow French citizens favored. In his manifesto, the 39-year-old former economy minister promised to bring positive reform to France’s welfare and pension systems while creating more jobs, and investing €50 billion (US$55 billion) in areas including environmental measures, public infrastructure and technological innovations.
President Macron also plans to defend and improve the European Union and to seek constructive and diplomatic approaches in international relations. He advocates an open and culturally diverse society, and has also called for unity among his fellow citizens.
