Supreme Art Brightens Up Hsihu Township, Formosa

Having been greeted by enthusiastic audiences around the world, the Supreme Art Exhibition was showcased at the Wu Zhuo-liou Art and Cultural Center for more than a month beginning September 18, Golden Year 12 (2015). The exhibition was part of the “Honoring Teachers and Emphasizing Moral Values Through Art” events upon invitation from the Hsihu Township Office of Miaoli County in Formosa. Supreme Master Ching Hai’s exquisite art creations of Longevity Lamps, paintings, fans, stone paintings, ceramic paintings, S.M. Celestial Clothing and S.M. Celestial Jewelry, as well as Her uplifting poetry, were put on display. Loving the Silent Tears was also screened every day over the course of the exhibition.

The grand opening of the exhibition was held on the morning of September 18 at the Wu Zhuo-liou Art and Cultural Center. Many local township residents showed great enthusiasm and quickly filled up the seats, indicating their high anticipation and support for the event. At the inauguration ceremony, six Longevity Lamps were lit by the wife of Miaoli County Magistrate, Ms. Tsai Li-ching; Vice Bureau Chief of Miaoli Culture and Tourism Bureau, Mr. Lin Yen-fu; County Legislator Mr. Cheng Chiu-feng; County Legislator Mr. Han Mao-hsian’s secretary, Mr. Wu Jun-yi; Hsihu Township Mayor Mr. Ku Mu-hsian; Hsihu Township representative, Mr. Kao A-ci; and the Chairman of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association. The ceremony marked the beginning of the Supreme Art Exhibition and Loving the Silent Tears musical screening event.

In his speech, Hsihu Township Mayor Mr. Ku Mu-hsian, said,

“Being the mayor for over 20 years, I had several opportunities to meet Supreme Master Ching Hai. I knew she was one of the world’s greatest spiritual Masters. It is no wonder so many countries approve, respect and welcome her.”

On behalf of the Township office, the mayor presented Master with a Plaque of Appreciation, which was received by the chairman of The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association on behalf of Master.

The wife of Hsihu Township Mayor, Ms. Yang Hsiu-hsia, gave great support for the exhibition. She said with deep gratitude,

“I was invited to the Loving the Silent Tears screening by The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association this March. After the show, I was in tears. In the play, the young man was finally able to get back on the right track, and the mother who lost her son eventually found the real love.”

She also said, “The people in Hsihu Township were very fortunate to be able to enjoy the world-class performance.”

After the lighting ceremony, Mr. Wu Kai-chien, the artist who founded the “Wujin” epoxy resin painting style, acted as a tour guide for the guests. With his professional commentary and narrations, the guests had an impressive and memorable tour of the Supreme Art.

The wife of Miaoli County Magistrate, Ms. Tsai Li-ching, accompanied by the tour guide, looked closely at all the art pieces in the exhibition. She said,

“Whether it be a Longevity Lamp or a lotus, all the images were imprinted in my heart. I realized I sincerely admire the Supreme Master. There is a childlike innocence in Master’s painting, as well as deep meanings.”

Legislator Chen Chao-ming’s wife, Ms. Wu Li-li, said,

“My eyes are lit up by all the pieces, including paintings, clothes, lamps and books. These are not simple art pieces; they also have love and spiritual power.”

Vice Bureau Chief of Miaoli Culture and Tourism Bureau Mr. Lin Yen-fu, said,

“It’s a rare chance to watch the world-famous Loving the Silent Tears in the rural area of Miaoli.”

The well-known pottery artist and founder of Ching-kiln Workshop, Mr. Tang Jun-ching, stood in front of one of Master’s paintings pictured on a giant billboard. He said he felt very moved by it.

“From the perspective of art, Master’s technique is spontaneous and natural. Her style of simplicity and truthfulness is the one that many artists have pursued all their lives. Seeing it, I feel an urge to visit the ashram to know more about the Supreme Master.”

After the exhibition, all attendees enjoyed a sumptuous vegan meal. From the content smiles on their faces, it was obvious that the vegan lunch and the blessings and love from Master’s artwork had won their hearts.
