Promoting the Vegan Diet in Côte d’Ivoire

By Côte d’Ivoire News Group (Originally in French)

In the beginning of Golden Year 12 (2015), our Association members in Côte d’Ivoire opened a vegan shop: Inner Tasted Foods, in the busy district of Yopougon in the capital city of Abidjan, to promote the plant-based diet. The store offers a variety of nutritious products such as dried tofu, vegan mayonnaise, black bean burgers, vegan meatballs etc. We also do deliveries. Our purpose is to introduce cruelty-free alternatives to the people of our country, and to help them to make informed decisions regarding their food choices. In addition to offering vegan products, we also share Supreme Master Ching Hai’s spiritual teachings.

On October 20, Golden Year 12 (2015), we distributed flyers, both French and English versions, about Inner Tasted Foods in Abidjan, and were pleasantly surprised by the positive reception of the public. Some people asked many questions, while others showed keen interest and curiosity about the presented information. Feeling highly encouraged by the experience, we plan to distribute additional brochures in the city.

On December 3, Golden Year 13 (2016), we held a special event at Inner Tasted Foods to introduce more citizens to the vegan diet. Radio Yopougon, a local radio station, was invited to help share the compassionate way of life with its listeners. Also, some of our Côte d’Ivoire Association members came to show support. The complimentary, delicious vegan dishes served included tofu and seitan kebabs, spring rolls, vegan cakes and more!

May Inner Tasted Foods’ success continue, and may more people of Côte d’Ivoire soon adopt the compassionate, plant-based diet with God’s grace.
