~Excerpts from Thank-you letters:
Thank-you Letters from the American Red Cross
Receiving Supreme Master Ching Hai’s financial contribution for relieving the refugee crisis, the President and CEO of the American Red Cross, Ms. Gail McGovern, wrote a letter expressing her sincere appreciation, stating, “Thank you. The American Red Cross is very grateful for your generous gift of $100,000.00 on October 12, 2015 to European Refugee and Migration Crisis…The humanitarian efforts of the Red Cross provide comfort and hope to so many during their times of need. Thank you for your commitment to this critically important work.”
Also, the American Red Cross Los Angeles Region stated in a letter: “Thank you for your generous gift to help support the global Red Cross response to the unprecedented migration crisis in the Middle East. Your gift will help provide critical assistance such as distribution of food, water, hygiene kits, baby supplies, clothing and first aid kits.”
Thank-you Letter from Austrian Red Cross
Accepting Supreme Master Ching Hai’s contribution to support refugee relief efforts, President of Austrian Red Cross, Dr. Gerald Schöpfer, conveyed his genuine appreciation in a letter on November 16, 2015: “Your kind donation of EUR 70,000 is highly valuable to us and helps us to continue our work to protect human dignity.”
Thank-you Letter from Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders)
In October 2015, our Association members from United Kingdom in response to Master’s compassionate instruction to assist the refugees, contributed GBP 3,000 to MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières or Doctors Without Borders) to support their humanitarian effort in rescuing the refugees. In reply, a member of MSF wrote a moving letter, describing his personal experience in rescuing people from boats crossing the Mediterranean from Africa:
“It is hard to imagine the desperate choices these people make when they embark on these journeys. I asked one man, ‘Why did you decide to get on the boat?’ He replied that it was because he had no hope left inside him, he felt dead inside, and a dead person doesn’t feel death.
“After being rescued, when they are safely on our boat, it is often the first time they can sleep properly, the first time they can rest. They have been under huge stress, and suddenly they have food and warmth.
“That day alone, we rescued 2,000 people from boats in the Mediterranean Sea. They were ‘guests’ on our boat. Not migrants, not refugees, but our ‘guests’. For MSF, this project is about life. Our mandate is to save lives and to save lives alone.”
Thank-you Letter from UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) – The UN Refugee Agency
Inspired by Master’s loving example, our Association members from Minnesota, United States made a humble contribution of US$900 to UNHCR on October 30, 2015 and received an appreciation letter from the Executive Director and CEO of UNHCR, Ms. Anne-Marie Grey. She wrote, “It will soon be put to work providing emergency services for refugees from the Middle East and Africa. I am very pleased to welcome you as a new friend. Your support of the refugees desperately trying to reach safety in Europe and elsewhere is truly gratifying. You are providing emergency food and shelter, as well as protection of refugees’ rights as human beings…These days, everyone is hearing about the conflicts and crises. But you have heard the cries of desperate refugees and responded with compassion and generosity. I am so very grateful for your humanitarian spirit.”
Thank-you Letter from International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies
Receiving Supreme Master Ching Hai’s financial contribution for assisting refugees, Director of Partnerships and Resource Development of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Mr. Stephen Omollo, conveyed his sincere appreciation in a letter on March 16, 2016: “These generous contributions amounting to a total of US$ 1,827,330 will help Red Cross Red Crescent volunteers and staff to continue their important work, providing relief and support to refugees and migrants arriving and passing through their countries.”
Thank-you Letter from Save the Children
Accepting Supreme Master Ching Hai’s financial contribution of US$17,000 to assist Syrian refugee children and their families, President and CEO of Save the Children, Ms. Carolyn Miles, expressed her thoughtful appreciation on January 26, 2017, in a letter: “Syrian refugee children have lost their homes, communities and schools – and their childhood. Thank you for all that you are doing to help bring them a brighter future.”
Also in the letter, Ms. Miles described this United Kingdom-based international NGO’s loving efforts: “Save the Children and our partners have worked tirelessly to meet the needs of overwhelmed girls and boys affected by this national tragedy. Following the Aleppo evacuation, we provided immediate support and medical relief to the displaced in order to build their recovery and determine next steps. And throughout the brutal six-year conflict, we have continued to provide traumatized kids with psychological support; scale up proven health and nutrition programs, address clean water and sanitation needs, and restore access to education.”

On behalf of the members of the Council of the Cyprus Red Cross Society, its President Fotini Papadopoulou conveyed their sincere gratitude for Supreme Master Ching Hai’s contribution of US$10,000 on October 1, 2015, to care for refugees.
