Remembering Master’s loving reminder to assist those less fortunate during the winter season, our San Francisco Center prepared 100 sleeping bags and care packages to give out to our homeless friends on the streets of San Francisco. All relief items were purchased with our Association members’ contribution of US$3,490, with reimbursement available from Master’s fund.
On the night of December 12, 2015, we set out in a couple of vans and distributed the items to the homeless people who usually stay under bridges or in alleyways to protect themselves from the rain and cold. The care packages contained warm jackets, socks, oral hygiene sets, and vegan food items such as chow mein and vegan sausages. They were put together by our young Association members and sponsored by Golden Era Vegan Restaurant, also managed by our Association members. When receiving the care packages, the kind recipients thanked us wholeheartedly with warm smiles.
We are ever grateful for Master’s loving care for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, and for allowing us to open our hearts and share love. We also feel closer to each other through the teamwork for this event.
