Sharing Master’s Supreme Love with Our Homeless Friends in Gunma, Japan

On December 19, 2016, in response to Supreme Master Ching Hai’s instruction to help those in need, our Gunma Association members in Japan distributed vegan snacks, fruit, underwear, cold-proof hats, thermal socks, gloves, hand warmers, masks, thermal jackets and other supplies to our homeless friends at the Takasaki Railway Station in Gunma Prefecture.

At nighttime, many of those who are homeless gather at the Takasaki station and spend the night there. We decided to come to the station after the last night train when there were only a few pedestrians in the area, as the homeless people would not come to rest at the station during the busy hours.

On the day of distributing the gifts, the temperature was higher than in previous years, bringing some warmth to those staying at the stations in the cold winter. When we arrived at the station, several homeless people were sleeping in the passageway or near the ladders, so we quietly placed the gift bags by their sides to avoid waking them. However, some heard us and woke up. They kept thanking us. A few of them even shed tears in appreciation. There were also some homeless people who spontaneously helped us distribute the gifts. They were very considerate of others and seemed to join us to share Master’s love.

Through this Christmas activity, we realized that our homeless friends have the noble qualities of God. It was very touching and was a rare learning experience for us. At the same time, it was evident to us that the number of homeless people in Gunma Prefecture was reduced, which proved that Master’s holy love has elevated the world.

We thank our homeless friends for letting us discover more love, and we thank Master for blessing them.
