From August 3 to 5, 2016, heavy rain caused by Typhoon Nida affected Lào Cai Province in northern Âu Lạc, resulting in serious floods and landslides. At least four lives were lost, seven people went missing and many houses and roads were destroyed. In addition, the loss of crops left the local people in hunger.
Following Supreme Master Ching Hai’s caring instructions to always assist those in need, our local Association members evaluated the situation to determine where help was most required. With US$5,100 contributed by Master and VND 33,547,000 (US$1,520) from our local Association members, we purchased clothes, rice, cookies, candy, sugar, soymilk, instant noodles, cooking oil and seasonings. On August 4, we transported the supplies to the affected towns, including Cốc San, Tòng Sành, and Quang Kim. We also distributed a total of VND 52,000,000 to support those in difficult times. After receiving Master’s loving gifts, the people were very touched and thankful. They wished Master good health and that She would be able to continue helping people who meet with hardships in life.
Our Association members are immensely grateful for Master’s compassion and empathy toward the people in suffering, as well as for giving us an opportunity to convey Her love to those less fortunate. We wish that humanity will soon wake up to being kind to Mother Earth and our animal co-inhabitants, and transition to a vegan lifestyle to avoid the negative effects of climate change.
