Loving Gifts To Mothers And Babies In Panama

In commemoration of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s birthday, on May 12, 2016, our Association members from the Panama Center delivered gift bags for newborn babies at Hospital Santo Tomás (Saint Thomas Hospital) in Panama City, one of the nation’s biggest public hospitals.

With the kind permission of the hospital staff, we visited two big hospital wards. One ward was for mothers who had natural childbirths and another was for those in more delicate conditions since they had caesarean births. In both wards, we witnessed some of the first experiences of these precious babies with their mothers. The new moms were very grateful to receive these presents to help in taking care of their babies. Many of the families in the wards were of low income.

As the gifts were delivered, some of the mothers, feeling the love and support, shared how they had chosen the child’s name or what time and how the baby was born. Many of them were curious about the Alternative Living flyer that was in each of the gift bags, and were surprised to hear all the benefits that a vegan diet could have for them as new mothers. In total, 60 gift bags for babies were delivered, containing diapers, diaper fasteners, quilts, bibs, feeding bottles and socks.

Congratulations and blessings to all the mothers and to the beautiful boys and girls born on this day. We send our love and best wishes to our most beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai on Her birthday, and our appreciation to all who were involved in this joyful and touching activity.
