By China Relief Team (Originally in Chinese)
In mid-August 2013, Typhoon Utor brought heavy rain to Guangdong Province, causing the worst flooding in hundred years in many places. Supreme Master Ching Hai compassionately instructed our Association members in Guangdong to render assistance to those affected, with funds available as needed. In a short period of time, our Guangdong Association members contributed RMB 120,000. Considering certain diseases were likely to occur and there would be a shortage of vegetables after the disaster, the fund was mainly used to purchase medicine, disinfectants, dried vegetables and red beans.
With Master’s love, from late August to early September, our relief team, which included one physician and one nurse, traveled nearly 2,000 kilometers. We went to the most affected areas four times, including Chaonan and Puning Cities as well as Hanguang, Jiulong and Dawan Towns in Yingde City in Guangdong Province to provide free medical care and distribute relief items. The affected people were comforted by our relief effort and expressed their gratitude.
At that time there was no media coverage about the disaster situation in Yingde and we were the only team providing relief work there. Based on the needs of the local people, we purchased additional antiseptics, cleaning disinfectants, dried vegetables and red beans. We also brought with us the clothes and blankets donated by our Association members and provided free medical services as well. In addition, we handed out RMB 2,600 to elderly individuals and those who were on social welfare.
Through participating in the relief work, we truly realized that God was conveying this message through us to those in suffering because of the disaster that no matter what happens, they are loved and cared for, because God does not neglect any of Hier children.
