By Gunma Center, Japan (Originally in Japanese)
On December 17, 2015, following Master’s kind example of giving to those in need, our Gunma Center Association members distributed Christmas gifts to homeless people in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. We had been giving out Christmas gifts to the homeless people in the cities of Takasaki and Maebashi up until December 2014, but this year, we did not see many homeless people in Maebashi. This is most likely because Maebashi has been providing housing to those who are homeless. Thus, we focused on Takasaki.
At the Takasaki transportation station, which is the main station in Gunma Prefecture, there were a few homeless people sleeping in the cold. When we offered them vegan food, fruits, bread, undergarments, hats, gloves and long jackets, they accepted them happily and showed angel-like smiles. We are very grateful for Master’s blessing, as we have noticed more of our homeless friends are able to find the safety of shelter, and less are living on the streets each year.
