Kathmandu, Nepal

In January 2013 a team of our Association members from the Nepal Center bought warm blankets and distributed them to spiritual practitioners in need and to others who were living outdoors without warm clothes.
As we finished distributing the blankets, we found a group of approximately 25 sadhus (Hindu monks) living in the area of Pashupatinath Temple, a place of worship dedicated to Lord Shiva, who also needed protection from the cold. Thus, on January 8 the team bought 25 more blankets and distributed them to the monks. We also shared Master’s teachings and the benefits of the vegan lifestyle with the recipients, who were happy and sincerely grateful to Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her loving concern. Some of the sadhus were planning to leave for India that day to attend the spiritual gathering known as Maha Kumbh Mela, and were thankful to have the blankets for their journey.
