Sharing Supreme Master Ching Hai’s love during the winter season, our Association members from Seoul, Daegu, and Busan responded to Master’s loving instruction to provide warmth to the homeless in our areas with financial assistance available upon request. With US$9,385 in contributions from Korean Centers, our relief team distributed winter necessities and offered hot, vegan food to those in need.
In Seoul, our team delivered a total of 350 blankets to our homeless friends at the Seoul and Yongsan Railway Stations over a period of three nights. Many of the recipients were sleeping out in the cold despite winter temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, using cardboard boxes as their only shelter. Upon receiving the blankets, the people happily conveyed their gratefulness.
Our team also delivered 100 blankets to homeless individuals in Daegu at the Dongdaegu Railway Station, and 40 blankets to Salim Community, a shelter for homeless women. In addition, a homeless friend directed us to others who were living in the city’s streets, and another 110 blankets were distributed. The recipients expressed their sincere appreciation and immediately wrapped themselves in the warm blankets.
In Busan, our team purchased sleeping bags, winter gloves and hats, and hot packs, and prepared food for distribution to those in need. Then late at night the team shared the warm winter items at the Nampo and Jagalchi subway stations, where the homeless often spend the cold, winter nights sleeping on cardboard boxes. The people also welcomed the hot, vegan soup and rice provided by our team. Upon receiving a warm sleeping bag one man expressed his gratitude to Master, while another said, “God bless all of you!”
Our heartfelt appreciation to Master for providing us with Her loving grace and inspiration to help others. We pray that our humble efforts can bring warmth and comfort to those without proper homes, especially during the winter season.
Furthermore, we eagerly look forward to the day when all beings have their own loving homes and never have to endure discomfort or suffering again.
