Deeply concerned about the refugees, Supreme Master Ching Hai lovingly asked our Association members to assist wherever possible. Therefore, as soon as our Paris Association members heard that many refugees in Grande-Synthe of northern France were suffering from the cold weather, we quickly bought heaters and supplies, using a total of EUR 11,782 from relief funds provided by our Formosan Association members.
On January 24, 2016, we distributed the heaters purchased with EUR 7,731 form the relief fund to families in need identified by volunteers. Each family had four to seven members and recipients were very happy to receive the assistance. A young couple was overjoyed and proudly showed us their baby of a few months old. We also shared ”Be Vegan, Make Peace” flyers with the refugees, and conveyed Master’s loving concern to them. To the two volunteers who helped us, we gifted them with the French version of Master’s book From Crisis to Peace – The Organic Vegan Way is the Answer, and they were appreciative.
Continuing Relief Efforts at Grande-Synthe Refugee Camp in Dunkirk, Northern France – February 21, 2016
On February 21, our Paris Association members revisited Grande-Synthe refugee camp in Dunkirk, northern France. Relief activities were funded by EUR 4,051 contributed by our Formosan Association members.
We purchased warm clothes for babies, socks, petroleum heaters and prepared many homemade vegan cakes. The families in the camp were very happy to receive these supplies, especially the mothers of the babies. We could see the true happiness on their faces when they saw the lovely gifts for their little angels. We also shared ”Be Vegan, Make Peace” flyers with everyone. They expressed their gratitude and respectfully thanked Master for the message and love.
Our deep gratitude to Master for Her infinite love for all beings and for giving us the opportunity to serve the warmhearted refugees.
