By Taichung, Formosa News Group (Originally in Chinese)

For more than six years, Loving Hut Hankou in Taichung, Formosa has been happily serving its customers, and has received very positive reviews from vegans and non-vegans alike. Inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s caring vision of providing healthy, delicious, and affordable plant-based food to the public, the Loving Hut family of restaurants is thriving in countries around the globe. In addition to gaining attention from the media, Loving Hut Hankou has been frequently invited by veggie-related events or groups to promote delectable, vegan fare.

Since celebrating its grand reopening in October, Golden Year 10 (2013), Loving Hut Hankou has been very fortunate to attract new customers through many ways. Besides having a Facebook fans page, Loving Hut Hankou actively participated in the Taichung Vegetarian Health Exhibition twice, and was featured in the media. For example, the newspaper Apple Daily has widely reported on Loving Hut Hankou summer favorites such as ice cream, tofu salad, veggie shrimp and lotus seed cuisine. In an online voting contest for Taichung’s Best Restaurant, Hankou Loving Hut won first place. During the recent “Veggies Don’t Lose” event hosted by United States Potato Board, two of Loving Hut Hankou’s savory potato dishes: “Four Vegetables and Five Roots” and “Annie Rose Baked Potato,” were commended, and Loving Hut Hankou was selected as one of the top five “Potato Dish” restaurants in Taichung. This honor was also reported in China Times Weekly. In addition, Beautiful Life Television of Formosa has featured Loving Hut Hankou on their news program.

As well as enjoying wholesome, vegan dishes at Loving Hut Hankou, patrons are served a complimentary pot of tea after their meal and can relax and read Supreme Master Ching Hai’s elevating books of poetry, teachings, and Amazon #1 bestsellers.

Inspired by Master’s call to promote veganism, Loving Hut staff members love helping customers and are delighted that some have decided to follow the plant-based diet. Also, some patrons who first came because of their vegan family members, decided to come three or four times a week because the food was so scrumptious. Moreover, there are customers who always order take out during the New Year because they have elderly family members at home who are not able to dine at the restaurant. In order to make it convenient for family gatherings, Loving Hut Hankou is planning to expand its operations in the future, adding catering service and online ordering.

Many thanks to United States Potato Board and the kind customers of Loving Hut Hankou for your commendations and support. Also, our appreciation to Apple Daily, China Times Weekly and Beautiful Life Television for your reports on Loving Hut Hankou, and for sharing the flavorful and nutritious vegan diet with your readers and viewers. May more and more people choose the diet of peace.
