Celebrating the Grand Opening of Loving Hut Congo

By Loving Hut Congo News Team (Originally in Chinese)

After the first Loving Hut in Africa was inaugurated in Ethiopia, in January 2016, a second Loving Hut was also opened that month in Pointe-Noire of the Republic of the Congo, attracting many locals to dine and enjoy its loving and healthy vegan food. The customers were happy to find such a large variety of delicious plant-based fare. The largest international family of vegan restaurants, Loving Hut was inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s caring ideal of introducing affordable, wholesome, and delectable Earth-protecting vegan cuisine to the world.

As the only vegan restaurant in Congo, the Loving Hut serves an international menu including Chinese food and Aulacese (Vietnamese) dishes as recommended by Master. Stir-fried rice, summer rolls and heavenly salad are among the many offerings. A vegetable garden in the backyard supplies additional cilantro, melons, and leafy vegetables for the kitchen. One wall of the dining area is adorned with Master’s words expressing Her dream of a peaceful world. The restaurant is also decorated with Master’s poetry collections, paintings and lamps,* as well as posters of famous vegans and vegetarians.

During the preparation, grand opening and afterwards, many friends, neighbors, and environmental protection associations conveyed a warm welcome. Staff members of a five-star hotel across the street also visited us. They plan to introduce their vegetarian guests to our restaurant. Our first customers told us they enjoyed the food and especially the peaceful, harmonious ambience of the restaurant.

One woman is a regular customer of Loving Hut Congo, and she often brings her friends and family members to dine here, too. After eating at Loving Hut, her husband always suggests to have meals at our restaurant on holidays. During one visit, he unexpectedly said to his family, “Let’s pray,” after the food was served, and did not begin eating until after a long silent prayer. The woman was very surprised by the change in her husband, believing that it was the peaceful atmosphere in Loving Hut that awakened the divine nature inside him.

Some local vegans were also pleased to discover that our restaurant not only serves savory plant-based meals, but also delightful vegan cakes. A yoga practitioner who often brings his friends to dine said after eating, “The food at Loving Hut not only fills my stomach, but also elevates my spirit.”

We are deeply grateful to Master for this opportunity to share veganism with the loving people of the Congo, and also to provide a window to the souls who long for spiritual liberation to be connected with God.
