Love In Action

Master is always deeply concerned when disasters occur in any part of the world. Upon hearing news of such events, She immediately provides financial assistance and sends relief teams. Through such efforts, Her unconditional love and support are conveyed to those affected, thus reducing their suffering while helping them to rebuild their lives.

In recognition of the selfless actions of governments, organizations and relief workers around the globe, Master expresses Her gratitude as follows: "Thank you, all the international help that brings care and necessities to afflicted victims. Thank you all the relief workers for taking time and forsaking your own comfort, even traveling great distance on unfavorable roads and conditions to bring love and assistance to people in a time of need. May Heaven bless you abundantly for your generosity and noble sacrifice."

Providing Vegan Food to Canine Friends in New Zealand

By News Zealand Relief Team (Originally in English)

Following the destructive earthquakes that took place in Christchurch, New Zealand, in February and June 2011, Supreme Master Ching Hai contributed an additional NZD 10,000 for purchasing vegan food for the affected canine friends after providing US$35,000 to assist the displaced people (refer to Magazine#209 for details). In the next 18 months until December 2012, our local Association members distributed Amì dog food to many non-killing dog and animal shelters throughout the country. Amì is a recognized and popular choice of vegan pet food imported from Italy. We also used this opportunity to help raise awareness of the benefits of a vegan diet for animals and humans alike.

With the kind and professional assistance from an importer of the Amì brand, who ensured each shipment and delivery was carried out effectively, our Association members were able to distribute a total of 49 bags of dog food weighing 15 kilograms each to eight different animal shelters. Much of the transportation fees were paid for by our Association members and some were kindly supported by the importer in appreciation of Master’s bountiful gift. In this process, we have learned much about the love, dedication and tireless commitment of caring individuals who are working quietly in animal shelters around New Zealand.

Expressing deep appreciation, many shelters wrote thank-you letters to Master. Animal Re-homing posted their gratefulness to Master in their newsflash and recommended Loving Hut to their readers. Loving Hut is an international family of vegan restaurants inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s caring vision to offer delicious and affordable vegan fare worldwide.

We pray that all dog friends in New Zealand have healthy futures filled with days of happiness and love.
