Love In Action

Master is always deeply concerned when disasters occur in any part of the world. Upon hearing news of such events, She immediately provides financial assistance and sends relief teams. Through such efforts, Her unconditional love and support are conveyed to those affected, thus reducing their suffering while helping them to rebuild their lives.

In recognition of the selfless actions of governments, organizations and relief workers around the globe, Master expresses Her gratitude as follows: "Thank you, all the international help that brings care and necessities to afflicted victims. Thank you all the relief workers for taking time and forsaking your own comfort, even traveling great distance on unfavorable roads and conditions to bring love and assistance to people in a time of need. May Heaven bless you abundantly for your generosity and noble sacrifice."

Bringing Much-needed Items to Calais, France to Assist Refugees

    GO BACK TO RELIEF SITE

By Surrey Relief Team, United Kingdom (Originally in English)

Upon learning that the refugee camps in Europe were in need of winter items, and in response to Supreme Master Ching Hai’s instruction to assist those less fortunate, our Association members from Surrey, United Kingdom prepared cold weather supplies and delivered them to a warehouse in Calais, France on December 10, 2016. The items included thermal hats, gloves, neck warmers, long underwear, socks, jackets and sleeping bags. The United Kingdom NGO Help Refugees and the French NGO L’ auberge des Migrants International organize the warehouse. Both of these groups work with Help Refugees in northern Greece and other supporting organizations to send supplies to refugees in Syria, Greece, and France.

In addition, we brought vegan food items, such as porridge oats, syrup, spices, oil, tea bags, large tins of tomatoes and tomato puree, to the Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK), which provides meals daily for approximately 500 refugees in Dunkirk, France. With God’s grace, we were able to find many good quality items at affordable prices.

On December 30, we once again delivered another load of supplies to the same warehouse in Calais. This time the items included pop-up tents as well as many more sleeping bags, socks, vegan food items and a large quantity of fresh greens requested by the RCK. Upon our arrival, one volunteer from the kitchen who saw the fresh produce as we opened the van was overjoyed and said, “I love you.”

We will keep in touch with the warehouse, watch their updated supply list and plan more deliveries in the coming months. We thank our Association members from the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Switzerland, Formosa and mainland China who have contributed financially. More importantly, we are grateful for the opportunity to share Master’s love with the refugees in their time of need.
