Supreme Master Ching Hai conveyed Her sincere congratulations and commendations in a letter sent to the Right Honourable Theresa May, appointed as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on July 13, Golden Year 13 (2016).
Prime Minister May became the second female prime minister of the United Kingdom after being the longest-serving Home Secretary in 50 years. She has a deep devotion to her country, pledging to help bring justice and equal opportunities for all citizens.
After being elected, Prime Minister May said, “We believe in a union not just between the nations of the United Kingdom but between all of our citizens, every one of us, whoever we are and wherever we’re from…We will do everything we can to help anybody, whatever your background, to go as far as your talents will take you.”
Prime Minister May announced in December of Golden Year 13 (2016), an additional GBP 50 million in homelessness prevention funding, which will include support for those at risk of sleeping on the street. In January of Golden Year 14 (2017), she announced plans to assist those with mental health conditions, and to enhance industry as well as the construction of houses.
